Ordinary Miracles,

Note: Listen to the song Ordinary Miracle while or after reading this post.

People can search far and wide for the miracles of miracles. Maybe it's a girl that survived a terminating cancer, or the feeling that God has communicated to you. Or they can stop the searching, and look in front of them. And they'll see a miracle.

How so?

Well, I believe that everything is a miracle. From the soft, morning glow of the sun, to the still, chirping of the crickets at night. Often times, you look over these things, but sometimes, when you look deeper and further into the simplest of things, you will see the miracle that resonates in them.

Do you ever wonder how the Earth perfectly accommodates all our needs? The Sun is at a perfect distance away, making our Earth not so cold or not so warm to the point where human inhabitation is impossible. We much so happen to have a great water supply, and enough oxygen to support us. So far, the Earth is the only planet that has been known to be able to sustain human life. Well, sometimes I wonder too. But at the end, I know that it's practically impossible to explain just how perfect the Earth is fitted for us.

That silky feeling of water running through your hands, or that sound of a beautiful, note played on a violin, they are all miracles. How can you explain that sugar tastes sugary and salt tastes salty? Anyways, I can't. But maybe, it's best if you leave it that way, so you don't have to stress about it, and instead, you can relax and appreciate the fact that you have the ability to taste and feel and see and hear...

Or what about the human body? How can so many organs, bones, muscles and others fit into such little space? How can they work in perfect harmony with each other so that we can, well, live?

All these things are amazing. They are miracles. Yet most of the time they are taken for granted since it's just always there. After a while, you stop noticing these things. But take a moment to look at the things around you, and if you think about it enough, you'll realize that they are all miracles.

Colors, snow, pandas, hot chocolate, sand... The list will never end. You might not even realize it, but you take a lot of things for granted. I do it too. And that's okay, because sometimes they're always there, the miracle affect kind of fades away from them. That is, until you look or think of them in a different light.

So, look around you.

Feel the warm rays of the sun on your skin.

Eat a slice of juicy, cold watermelon.

Listen to the beautiful chirping of a bird.

Just some more ordinary miracles.

  2. I how you added watermelon to the last part! XD anyways, your writing for this post was so beautiful! :) And you're the one praising over my writing! Look at you!

Miracles are wonderful even if sometimes they might not. Miracles can be happy miracles or sad miracles but miracles are mainly just the everday things you do, see, feel, listen, taste, smell.

  3. Beautiful! And I totally agree! I still believe that some of the most 'simplistic' things in life can be so magical! Some people just feel it more than others, and some people just need to get more in touch with it!

    I'm your new follower ;)

  4. Miracle! Miracle! what a fascinating word. one is always expecting a miracle, a miracle to jump over it when a river is blocking you from reaching your destination; a miracle to remember all the vocabulary in one night; a miracle to recover from a terminal illness; a miracle to overcome your enemy just by staring at him/her. So many... so simple, but all derived from the nature and characteristic of an un-expectation and superpower. These are the features typically being projected to be a miracle.

Now you open our vision concerning a miracle, which is in everywhere and every moment and everybody if you really think deeply.

    Excellent post, well done.

  5. Aww, that was so beautiful, lyrical and melodic! Makes me start loving all the small things in life ;D This is what I start thinking of after reading a super bad-ass Dystopian novel and watching shows like Revolution. Life contains miracles within miracles and when you stop to think about it, you're awed to silence.

A had watermelon just yesterday! (and it was awesome...and now I'm craving it again, haha) Wondrously written! Keep it up :)

  6. Agree! Everything that happens in our lives everyday is a miracle, be it little or big. We can never really explain how such things happen in magical and miraculous ways, even with scientific explanations. We need to appreciate every little thing around us cause we never know when these miracles will stop appearing before our very own eyes :)

    PS
    I love watermelon too! :)
